AAMI

AAMI or Australian Associated Motor Insurers Limited has been providing car insurance to Australians since 1970. They are also underwriters for a number of other insurance providers such as Apia, Just Car Insurance, Bingle and Shannons. AAMI has branches in all states and territories across Australia. For comprehensive insurance they offer particularly good deals in the under 25 age bracket as well as for families with young drivers.

Allianz Australia

Allianz Australia is one of the largest general insurers in Australia providing insurance products to all Australian States and Territories. They offer cheap car insurance in the 25-29 age bracket.

Budget Direct

Budget Direct is part of the Budget Insurance group of companies. All their insurance policies are underwritten by the Auto & General Insurance Company Limited, which is also part of the Budget Insurance group. The company focus is to provide cheap car insurance for good drivers by not insuring high risk drivers. They represent particularly good value for drivers over the age of 25.

CGU

CGU is part of the Insurance Australia group (IAG). They have a 140 year heritage in Australia, with offices in all States and Territories. They excel in cheap car insurance for drivers under 25.

CommInsure

CommInsure is part of the Commonwealth Bank Group. Although the name CommInsure has only been around since 1999, the Commonwealth Bank has a long history as an insurance provider dating back to 1873. They offer exceptionally cheap car insurance for drivers aged under 25 and over 30.

GIO Australia

GIO Australia began existence as the Government Insurance Office in 1927. It was acquired in 2001 by Suncorp Metway Limited, one of Australia's largest general insurance groups. They have branches throughout NSW, Victoria, ACT and Tasmania and offer cheap car insurance for drivers aged 25-29 and drivers over 60.

ING Australia Limited

ING Australia Limited is a joint venture between the global ING Group (a Dutch company with a 150 year heritage) and the ANZ Bank. Perhaps better known for their financial services, they do provide some exceptionally cheap car insurance for drivers under 25 across all Australian States & Territories.

Just Car Insurance

Just Car Insurance is fully underwritten by AAMI. They are an authorised representative of AAMI catering specifically to young drivers and drivers of modified cars. So naturally they provide cheap car insurance for drivers under 25 and for families with young drivers.

Ozicare

Somewhat lesser known in the car insurance arena, Ozicare has been in Australia since 1999. They are part of an International Group of Companies and are underwritten by the Auto & General Insurance Company Limited. Targeting good drivers, they offer cheap car insurance to drivers aged over 25 and families with young drivers.

RAA

RAA or the Royal Automobile Association of South Australia services residents in South Australia and Broken Hill. Their policy for families with young drivers represents great value.

Real Insurance

Real Insurance has been operating in Australia since 1999. As part of the Hollard Group of companies, Real Insurance differentiate themselves from other insurance companies with their 10% cash back on all premiums paid every three years for policy holders who haven't claimed in that time. Real Insurance don't have branches as such by they do provide insurance for all States and Territories across Australia.

Suncorp

Suncorp has been part of the Australian insurance landscape since 1916 trading as the State Accident Insurance Office. Suncorp was wholly owned by the Queensland Government until 1996 when it merged with QIDC entities to form Metway Bank creating the new allfinanz group Suncorp Metway. The Suncorp group acquired GIO in 2001 and has branches in all Australian States and Territories. They provide particularly cheap car insurance for drivers over the age of 60.
